Art enriches learning!
“What I saw as a former teacher (35 years) was that the arts are THE main thing for many students. Art, including music, drama, painting and print making, photography, dance and poetry.”
“Please support the arts. I see, EVERY DAY, through my work with high school students in music, the value of arts education. The connection between music, drama, art and the real world is NOT extracurricular – it is a connector to ALL of the core subjects. I can’t imagine what life would be like for me and my students without this connection.”
Artists speak out about the importance of arts education
President Donald Trump proposed budget cuts in March that would eradicate the National Endowment for the Arts. However, Congress plans to only reduce the budget for the NEA by 3%. The NEA funds and promotes creative programs across the country. Now, artists like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Julie Andrews and Kal Penn have a message about the importance of art education.
